Eva Belmonte (Spain, 1982) is a journalist specialised in public data treatment and analysis. She gained journalistic experience writing and editing for major Spanish media organisations like El Mundo, where she worked from 2005 to 2012. She is currently Director at Fundación Civio, a non-profit newsroom based in Madrid, where she designs, develops and supervises data and investigative journalism projects. She is an expert in policies, public procurement, access to health and public finance, and delivers training on data journalism to major media organisations in Spain. She won the Data Journalism Award for Best Individual Portfolio, among other awards.
